A Line from your ART TEACHER:

Art instruction is scheduled for thirty minutes once a week. Students are encouraged to be "Art Smart" - to use their own ideas, experiences and knowledge to complete assignments.  They develop and demonstrate fine motor skills by manipulating a variety of 2D and 3D media from tempera paint to pottery clay. As they work, they make choices, try new approachs and practice problem solving skills. Social skills are also developed as they work independently or in small groups.  Aesthetic awareness is expanded as they form opinions and make informed judgements about their own work and that of their classmates as well as work by famous artists of the past and present.  Many times art lessons are integrated with other subjects to strengthen language arts, social studies, and science curricula.
