Dr. Paula Pinkerton,

I am excited and honored to welcome each of you to the beginning of a new school year at William W. Estes Elementary School. We have about 750 students – kindergarten through fourth grade with 110 dedicated faculty and staff. Estes is a Leader in Me school for the fourth year. Leader in Me provides a framework for our students and teachers to support their efforts in accomplishing our academic goals in reading and math.

Estes provides a rich environment for all our students. The teachers at Estes are highly dedicated professionals with an extraordinary level of compassion for our students. Every student at Estes has a Leadership notebook where they set their academic goals for reading and math. Leader in Me provides each student a roadmap to support their individual goal setting and leadership skills.

I am proud to say I am a product of Buncombe County Schools. I grew up in the Enka Candler area. I attended Pisgah Elementary School and then graduated from Enka High School.
