Estes Family Resource Center (EFRC) is a free, confidential service provided in partnership with Estes Elementary School and Children First/Communities In Schools of Buncombe County. The EFRC is available to all Estes students and families, and offers clothing, food boxes, and school supplies, as well as references & referrals to outside agencies. To receive any of these items or services please contact me or visit during our open hours, Wednesdays 8:30 am - 10:00 am, or by appointment.
School-Wide Initiatives are provided to all Estes students. These include the use of the Estes Family Resource Center, anti-bullying assembles, coat, blanket and school supply drives, among others.
Small Groups are offered to students to help improve their study skills, to learn how to prevent bullying, or to improve academic skills in math and reading. We use the Second Step curriculum that the school counselors use during Guidance, so the lessons are consistent from classroom to small group. Triple P is a parenting intervention with the main goal of increasing the knowledge, skills, and confidence of parents and reducing the prevalence of mental health, emotional, and behavioral problems in children and adolescents. We do this by coming alongside parents to teach them strategies they can us to help them prevent and manage their child's behavior. To learn more visit www.triplep-parenting.com.
